| Integrating infrastructure is the basic supporting environmentforCIM（computer integrated manu－facturing）systems．This paperintroduces the design and implementation ofan opening distributed CIM integrat－ing infrastructure，HIT－IIS．2，developed by HIT（Harbin Institute of Technology）．The HIT－IIS．2 prototypeincludes the following service functions for CIM systems：business process control，enterprise activity control，resource management，definition and description，system information，communication managementand front－endinterface．Each service function is described in the paper． |
