    Abstract:

    Automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) has been studied widely because it s convenient, quick and exact in personal verification field. In this paper, a fingerprint minutia first matching method is proposed based on the structural features of minutia, and a genetic algorithm is applied to the further point matching phase. This method has given good results in automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS).
